- Food Enhancer and Substitute
Every find yourself prepping greens and realizing you are out of lemons for that finishing acidic balance?. This is a perfect time to substitute in your apple cider vinegar. Pro Tip: Use it to enhance our Jicama Slaw in the recipe section. It works great in any slaw! You can also use it as a substitute for balsamic vinegar if you’re in a bind.
- Fruit Fly Trap
We can empathize and agree that those pesky fruit flies can be a nuisance in the kitchen. No need to expose your family or beloved kitty Cleo to harmful chemical sprays. You can make an organic solution using your homemade apple cider vinegar mixed with a few drops of dish soap. We’ll leave the level of trap sophistication up to you.
- DIY Cleaners
You might not be Macgyver, but making these DIY Cleaners will feel close enough. Perfect for when your peers are hoarding every cleaning supply in town. Also great for those that are sensitive to chemicals or have allergies. For cleaning wood floors, try mixing one cup of ACV with one gallon of water. Run out of windex and feel the urge to clean glass surfaces? Try diluting a ¼ cup of your apple cider vinegar with 1 pint of water in an empty spray bottle. Problem solved!
- Healthy Hair
Use a 1 to 3 ratio of apple cider vinegar to water. It’s easiest to mix up the solution in an old spray bottle. You can use this solution before or after washing your hair. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before washing it out. The benefits you ask? The apple cider vinegar assists in balancing the PH level on your scalp, which helps with entanglement and smoother shinier hair.
- Marinade and Tenderizer
Use your homemade apple cider vinegar as an easy marinade and tenderizer. We love using the vinegar in chicken marinades and homemade bbq sauces. We’ll state the obvious and remind you not to go overboard. The taste can be overwhelming if you use too much, or let it marinate for too long.
