Ingredients

Dutch Baby

  • 3 eggs
  • ⅔ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup gf all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted & cooled
  • Pinch of salt
  • Sifted powdered sugar, to top – optional
  • Maple syrup to drizzle – optional
  • Apples
  • 3 tbsp butter or vegan butter
  • 2 Sunrise Magic apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a blender, combine the eggs, almond milk, gluten-free flour, melted butter, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, about 1 minute. Set the batter aside while you prepare the pan and the apples.
  3. Heat a 10-12 inch cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add the butter. Once melted, add the apples, coconut sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for about 2 minutes and then spread the apples evenly over the bottom of the pan.
  4. Pour the batter over the apples and immediately place into the oven. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with maple syrup to serve if desired!

Note: Due to using gluten-free flour, the dutch baby will not puff up on the sides like a traditional dutch baby, but still has the same great taste & texture.
